The 100 day project – soulful wall hangings (first 33)

I am over a third of the way through the 100 day project and still loving creating my soulful wall hangings and sharing them online. Bringing together written messages with textiles, hand and machine stitching, and small objects has been a perfect creative blend for me.

If you have not been following along you can find them all easily on Instagram under the hashtag #100soulfulwallhangings and today the first batch are available for adoption in the store. You can find them all here.  They are great reminders for us adults, but I love that my girls (12 and almost 14) love them too as I always have girls in mind when I write – these are the lessons I want younger girls to absorb now so it becomes their default to listen to their gut and take care of themselves.

The wall hangings have been backed with fabric and finished off with hand painted wooden dowels (either gold or aqua / gold) and recycled sari silk yarn ready to hang and display.

Here are a few of my favourites since the last update:

The recycled sari yarn is luscious – the colours are so vibrant and the material so soft I want to put it on everything i own. It will find its way into many of the future wall hangings now that I have it in my hands.

What have you been creating lately? What would you put on a wall hanging to remind you of daily?

Love and light,
