This post is part of the ongoing series “how to love and accept yourself as you are” – you can find all the posts here and catch up any time.
Music can be a powerful force in life. It can lift you up, set a mood, push you on a run, ease you off to sleep and countless other personal ways music touches you.
Being intentional with what you listen to can help in the self love and acceptance stakes. Positive words and strong messages can feed our self talk and image, building us up and urging us forward.
I created a playlist of 30 songs that all carry these messages of self love, followiing your inner compass and standing in your own power. I have been listening to it on repeat for 2 weeks and love it. I hope you will have a listen and at the very least find some new songs to add to your own playlists and/or lyrics to jot down to keep as reminders.
It is a public playlist on my spotify account (and anyone can listen to spotify on a free account), but if you want to make your own playlist on your device / alternative music provider I made an image with the full list of songs and artists.
I specifically included the clean version of Pink’s F**king Perfect (eve though i like the original) so this is ok for kids of all ages to listen to. Next week’s post is all about raising kids to love and accept themselves and that is one tactic I have always used.
My kids are now 11 and 13 and quite a few of these are songs they played FOR ME now. They make great choices in media consumption – completely getting the idea of nourishing themselves with the right messages.
What are your favourite songs that inspire self love and acceptance? the ones that empower and uplift you?
Love and Light,
